5 components
that will guide
the development
of EARTH - La Flor

-- CENTER FOR THE TRANSFORMATION OF KNOWLEDGE --
The main purpose of the La Flor campus is to search
for ways to improve the environment, and to
generate jobs through teaching and research.

 -- SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL CENTER--
This center deals with all agricultural production
- mango, sugarcane, citris fruits, and cattle production -
of the new campus, as well as creating learning
experiences for students, producers, and visitors.

 -- SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY CENTER --
This project will manage not only academic activities,
but also coordinate research with companies that are
focused on developing and innovating scientific strategies.

 -- AGRO-ECO-CULTURAL TOURS --
La Flor will be used as a reference point for those
who visit Guanacaste, offering activities that integrate ecological, agricultural, scientific, and cultural criteria.

 -- GREEN CONFERENCE CENTER --
A place where we will facilitate business and
academic activities. The center’s design will
promote a “green” way of thinking.

The unique transformational role of the La Flor campus is dedicated to the generation of innovative ideas aiming to promote development through an entrepreneurial spirit, social justice, technological innovation and the creation of alternatives to protect the environment.

Since the donation from the family of former Costa Rican president Daniel Oduber Quiros’ in 2005, EARTH-La Flor took immediate action in recovering and diversifying crops, improving infrastructure, and harvesting and selling mangos, sugarcane, and citrus.

EARTH has also made strategic alliances with local enterprises, municipalities, and non governmental organizations to improve the management of the Liberia River watershed, to promote waste management, and to participate in the Regional Commission of the Guanacaste Conservation Area. Currently, the University is preparing to begin construction of its academic campus. We are also developing basic grain production, and clean energy initiatives in the region.
